Case Study: The Cultch presents The Rap Guide to Evolution

The Client


In late October 2013, The Cultch – one of Vancouver’s most?significant theatre, music,?and dance presenters – staged rapper Baba?Brinkman’s?The Rap Guide to Evolution.?Brinkman,?combining science and poetry, took the audience on a provocative, hilarious,?and scientifically accurate tour through Darwin’s theory of evolution.

 

The Campaign


Laura Murray Public Relations were hired to provide a media?relations campaign that?would secure high-levels of editorial coverage and?public awareness around The Cultch?production?The Rap Guide to Evolution.?The broad range of activities included?composing?and distributing a press release, pitching local journalists to write?features, and securing?the attendance of reviewers.
